Can a wire transfer be sent internationally?
You can send outgoing international wires to most countries; however, instructions are required, including a SWIFT/BIC code. This 8-11 character code identifies the country, city, bank, and branch you are sending funds to. Please note that an additional code may be required depending on where the outgoing international wire is being sent to.
You will also be required to provide the following information to initiate an outgoing international wire transfer:
- Your Connexus account information, including member and account number.
- Wire transfer information, including the date to send the wire, the wire amount, currency type, and purpose of the wire.
- Receiving financial institution information, including the financial institution’s name, address, and applicable code(s) as outlined above.
- Account holder information at the receiving financial institution, including their contact information, account type, and account number.
Before contacting Connexus to initiate your outgoing international wire transfer, please obtain the necessary code(s) and required information.
