International Credit Union Day 2015

Today, credit unions world-wide celebrate International Credit Union Day. Since 1948, this annual event has served as a celebration of credit union cooperative principles and the work being done in communities around the world to improve financial access and education.

The theme for this year’s celebration is ‘People Helping People’, a phrase used often to explain the cooperative nature of credit unions and the personalized financial service members receive.

This International Credit Union Day is especially exciting for Connexus as we wrap up our 80th Anniversary celebrations. 80 years ago, Connexus was founded by a small group of employees from Employers Mutual Insurance who wanted to ensure their fellow employees had access to competitive products, services and rates.Since then, the credit union has changed names several times, and grown into a $1 Billion credit union serving over 180,000 member-owners nationwide. Now employing over 180 people, Connexus is dedicated to living out the mission of ‘People Helping People’.

Thank you for helping to create ‘The Connexus Story’. We are honored to be your credit union and look forward to serving you for another 80 years and beyond.
